Membership

WCTA markets Washington's clean tech industries and supports the business development of its members and the industry as a whole. Members receive all services at no cost or at discounted fees and have the opportunity to participate on committees, special projects, and other activities of the WCTA. Membership is open to businesses, agencies, education and research institutions, and other organizations that have a presence in Washington State and are engaged in activities consistent with the clean technology field.

Membership Benefits

Business Development Assistance

WCTA works with public and private partners to help its members find business development advice, technical assistance, and financial support. Given clean tech's diverse scope, WCTA is able to build cross-disciplinary connections to address opportunities that exceed the skill or resources of any one company.

 

Market Development & Branding

WCTA works with local, state and federal agencies and WCTA members to help brand Washington as a hub for clean tech products and services. WCTA helps Washington's clean tech businesses participate at national and international trade fairs and trade missions to communicate Washington's reputation for high quality products and services, entrepreneurial spirit, leading edge innovations, knowledge and expertise, and environmental awareness.

 

Forums for Networking with Washington's Leading Clean Tech Industries

WCTA connects the broad spectrum of clean tech sectors through networking events and activities. WCTA holds regular Lunch Seminars and Executive Roundtable breakfasts, as well as other events in collaboration with partner organizations.

 

Advocacy

WCTA will advocate in the coming year for state and local policies that are supportive both of sustainable development and efficient business operations which increase the demand for clean tech products and services in the marketplace.

 

Education and Workforce Development

The growing demand for clean and green products and services, both locally and globally, requires Washington's workforce to be adequately prepared to fill these 'green economy jobs.' WCTA works with educational institutions, workforce development councils and member companies to help address the workforce needs of the clean tech cluster.

 

Directory

WCTA maintains a comprehensive clean tech directory of business, government agencies, economic and business development organizations, education and research institutions, service providers, and nonprofits in Washington. Additionally, WCTA is working to develop a Web-accessible, searchable directory that offers client companies or public entities a one-stop information resource devoted to Washington companies.

 

Information Clearinghouse

WCTA aims to be the hub for clean tech news, information and resources in Washington state. Visit the website regularly for updates on news, events, resource links, legislative updates, reports and publications, and more. WCTA also maintains a carefully edited list of resource links for national and international clean tech news and information.

 

Industry Analysis

Through its members, including the Washington Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development (CTED), Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) and enterpriseSeattle, WCTA will regularly update and monitor the scope and breadth of the clean tech industry cluster in the Puget Sound region and the State of Washington.

 

Who Should Join?

Business: businesses offering products or services which improve the condition of the natural environment or aid in the improvement of the natural environment, and are located or have employees in Washington.

 

Academic and R&D Institutions: academic and research institutions in Washington that provide clean tech-related programs or courses, or conduct clean tech-related research and development.

 

Non-Profit Organizations: non-profit organizations in Washington whose missions are compatible with WCTA activities.

 

Public Sector: local, state or federal government agencies, departments, or branches located in Washington.

 

Membership is also available to companies or organizations without a Washington presence, but with an interest in the state's clean tech industry. Affiliate membership includes all standard membership services and rights, except participation on committees or special projects.
